OUR STORY
William Reese Design Group was founded by Robbie Carter and named in honor of his children, William and Reese, as a reflection of the legacy, integrity, and enduring values that define the company today.
Raised in the historic city of Savannah, Georgia, Robbie developed a passion for architecture, craftsmanship, and timeless design at an early age while learning alongside one of the region’s premier historic restoration builders. That experience instilled a deep appreciation for historic preservation, authentic materials, and the enduring principles of exceptional design.
His perspective was further refined while living in northern Italy and traveling throughout Europe, studying the architecture, art, and urban planning of more than fifty historic towns and cities across ten countries. Immersed in centuries of architectural excellence, he developed a lasting appreciation for the principles that continue to influence his work today: balance, scale, proportion, color, craftsmanship, and the relationship between buildings and the people who experience them.
An accomplished artist before becoming a designer, Robbie’s work has received national recognition, including an award-winning piece exhibited at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., as well as artwork featured in the iconic television series Melrose Place. That artistic foundation continues to shape every project, bringing a refined eye for composition, texture, color, and detail. Among his most notable accomplishments, Robbie led the design of the first restaurant in Savannah’s history to earn the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award.
